Privacy Policy

Effective September 2026. Voice Teleprompter is a free tool with two distinct modes that handle your data very differently. Please read the Voice Follow section below carefully — we want to be straightforwardly honest about it rather than make a "100% private" claim that wouldn't be true.

Your script text

By default, the script you paste or type stays in the page for your current browser session. It is never uploaded to a server, never stored by us, and disappears when you close or refresh the tab unless you use the optional Pro "Save this script" feature described below — there is no account and no server-side storage of any script content on this site.

The optional Pro purchase

Buying the optional Pro upgrade ($5.99 one-time) uses Stripe (our payment processor) to collect your email and payment details — we never see or store your card number. We store your email and purchase record so you can restore Pro on another device later (via a 6-digit code sent to that email, no password). That's the only personal data this site ever holds, and it's never sold or shared beyond what's needed to process your purchase.

Pro's two features — removing the watermark and saving named scripts — do not change how your actual script content is handled: "Save this script" writes your script text into your own browser's local storage only. It is saved on that device/browser alone (not synced to a server or any other device) and is never uploaded anywhere.

Manual Scroll Speed mode: fully local

If you use Manual Scroll Speed, no microphone access is requested and no audio is processed at all — it's a plain adjustable-speed auto-scroll running entirely in your browser.

Voice Follow mode: not fully on-device — please read this

If you use Voice Follow, this tool asks for microphone permission and uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API (SpeechRecognition / webkitSpeechRecognition) to turn your speech into text so it can track your reading position. This tool does not run its own speech-recognition model, and does not receive or store your raw audio itself — but the browser's implementation of that API is not, in general, purely on-device processing:

If this matters for your use case — for example, a script containing sensitive or confidential material — use Manual Scroll Speed mode instead, which involves no microphone access or audio processing of any kind.

What else leaves your device

This site uses standard, anonymous Google Analytics (page views, referrer, country, browser type) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymized heatmaps and session recordings of on-page interactions, used to spot broken UI, not to identify you) to understand overall usage. This site also shows ads served by Adsterra, a third-party ad network, which may set its own cookies or use similar technology to serve relevant ads — we don't control what Adsterra does with that beyond serving ads on this site; see Adsterra's own privacy policy for details. We don't add any other ad pixels or cross-site tracking ourselves.

Accounts and personal data

There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no personal data collection on this site beyond what's described above for Voice Follow's use of the browser's speech API.
